Save Farm is a 25-acre working chikoo and mango orchard in Gholvad, Dahanu, just across the border in Maharashtra. Vapi is about an hour away by road and Valsad about 1.5 hours, so a night on the farm needs no long drive and no trip to Mumbai.

Home-cooked Maharashtrian vegetarian food, such as poha, upma, dal-rice and seasonal sabzi, is part of every stay. It is not spicy or heavy by default; non-vegetarian food can be arranged at extra cost.
Walk the chikoo and mango orchard with a guide, and see the vermi-compost unit, the bees kept for pollination, fish raised in the canals and the farm lake.
Bordi beach is about 4 km from the farm, easy to add to a weekend here.

From Vapi or Valsad, the trip south takes you to Gholvad in Dahanu taluka, in Maharashtra’s Palghar district, among the chikoo orchards this coast is known for. The Save family has farmed here since 1970, and the farm is a government-registered nursery with a collection of over 400 plant species.
A stay includes two vegetarian meals, breakfast, a guided farm tour and two rural activities, such as Warli painting or the pottery wheel. Crops are grown without chemical pesticides, using organic fertilisers, and alcohol and loud music are not allowed on the farm.
Larger families, clubs, schools or company teams can plan a group day visit once they have at least 25 guests. A Warli dance or tarpa music performance can be arranged on request, when the performers are available.
