Mr. Prabhakar Save began with a chikoo nursery. His family still cares for the orchard and welcomes guests to experience it today.
From nursery to living farm.
Save Farm began in 1970 with Mr. Prabhakar Save’s work in horticulture. What started as a chikoo nursery became a place where farmers and students could learn about growing plants. The orchard and nursery have continued to shape life here.
Shetkari Niwas was built in 1989 to host farmers visiting the nursery. Today it is one of the rooms guests can stay in. That history helps explain why a visit still begins with the farm itself, rather than a list of resort attractions.
Tarpa, the family’s agro-tourism initiative, opened this working place to more visitors. Mr. Save’s son Aditya and the farm team now welcome guests for overnight stays, guided experiences and planned group visits.

1970 · A nursery begins
Mr. Prabhakar Save starts the horticultural work that grows into today’s chikoo orchard and nursery.
1989 · Farmers stay and learn
Shetkari Niwas is built to host farmers who come to the nursery. It now welcomes overnight guests as a ground-level family-room option.
Today · The farm welcomes visitors
Under the Save family, the farm hosts stays, guided walks and group visits while orchard and nursery work continue.

Tarpa connects the farm visit to Warli culture and local makers. Workshops depend on availability and are confirmed for your group or package.

Meals follow the farm’s schedule. Alcohol and loud music are not allowed, leaving room for conversation, rest and the sounds of the orchard.
Why Tarpa?
The Tarpa is a traditional wind instrument associated with Warli community gatherings. Save Farm's agro-tourism initiative takes its name from that spirit of people coming together.
The work has been recognised beyond the farm.
