A Day on the Farm
25 acres, 6 hours, and something for every age — the group outing near Mumbai that actually works
Why This Outing Works When Others Don't
If you've ever tried planning a one-day picnic near Mumbai for a mixed group, you know the problem. The kids want adventure. The elders want shade and comfort. Half the group wants good food, the other half wants something to actually do. And the organizer? They just want everyone to stop complaining.
Save Farm is 25 acres of working farmland in Dahanu — a day trip from Mumbai that takes about 2.5 hours by road. For groups of 10 or more, we run a full-day experience that includes a guided farm tour, hands-on rural workshops, home-cooked Maharashtrian meals, and outdoor activities. One flat price. No hidden costs. No planning headaches.
Whether it's a birthday party for a 7-year-old, a corporate team that needs a break from conference rooms, a ladies group looking for a change of scenery, a family reunion across three generations, or a senior citizens club wanting fresh air without the trekking — the day works the same. And somehow, everyone leaves happy.
One Day, Every Kind of Group
The same experience, through different eyes
Family Reunions
Looking for a family reunion venue near Mumbai that isn't a banquet hall? Cousins chasing each other through the orchard. Grandparents on the shaded botanical walk. Three generations sitting down to the same meal. The farm gives everyone space to do their own thing — and a table to come back to together.
Birthdays Under Open Skies
If you're looking for an outdoor birthday party venue near Mumbai that isn't a play-zone or a theme park, this is it. Kids ride a zip-line over a pond, shape clay with their hands, paint Warli art they actually keep, and pick chikoos off real trees. They go home with mud on their shoes and stories that don't start with 'I watched a screen.'
For the Elders — A Slower Pace, A Gentler Walk
Planning a senior citizen outing near Mumbai that doesn't involve steep climbs or long treks? The farm offers a gentle guided walk through the botanical garden, fresh air under shaded canopies, and home-cooked food that tastes like it should. 55+ years of farming heritage for the ones who like to know the story behind what they're looking at. Peaceful, comfortable, and genuinely interesting.
A Morning for the Women
For a ladies group outing near Mumbai that's more than just lunch at a resort — try Warli painting with local artisans, a walk through spice gardens and medicinal plants, farm-fresh food with no menu to argue over, and souvenir shopping for handcrafted art and fresh produce. Relaxed, safe, and actually worth the drive.
For the Friends Who Need a Break
Looking for a college trip or friends outing near Mumbai that isn't another Lonavala weekend? Zip-line across the farm pond. Rope course through the coconut palms. Pottery that gets competitive. Group photos in the chikoo orchard. A break from the city that doesn't require a flight or a five-star budget.
For Teams — An Offsite That Doesn't Feel Like Work
No conference rooms. No PowerPoint. Just 25 acres of farmland, a pottery wheel, and a long lunch where people actually talk to each other. If you're planning a corporate outing or team outing near Mumbai and you're tired of the same resorts, bring your people here. Team building activities that involve mud, art, and fresh air — not trust falls.
For Schools — A Field Trip They'll Remember
Bee-keeping, composting, rainwater harvesting, chikoo picking — this isn't a textbook lesson, it's a morning on a working farm. We've been hosting school trips near Mumbai for years, and the questions the children ask are always the best part. A farm visit for kids that teaches more than a classroom ever could.

Getting Here from Mumbai
The drive from Mumbai to Save Farm takes about two and a half hours — head north past Virar, through Palghar, and into the chikoo belt of Dahanu. The road is straightforward, mostly highway, and the last stretch through Gholvad's orchards is half the experience. If you're bringing a bus, the farm has ample parking space for large vehicles.
Coming by train? The Western Railway line runs directly to Gholvad station, which is a short 5-minute rickshaw ride from the farm. Several fast trains from Mumbai Churchgate and Borivali stop at Dahanu Road station, from where Gholvad is another 15 minutes. For groups, we can help arrange local pickup from either station. For detailed directions, landmarks, and other ways to reach us, visit our contact page.
Want to Stay the Night?
Some groups turn the day trip into an overnight stay. The Machaan huts sit above the treeline, dinner is served under the stars, and in the morning the farm sounds different — quieter, slower. Bed tea arrives at seven, breakfast is unhurried, and there's time for a second round of activities before checkout. If you're curious, take a look at the overnight packages.
